Daryl Hall’s $16 Million Mansion A Home For Music
A passing glance at this Colonial-styled estate in eastern New York does little to reveal the arena-sized pedigree of its owner. But the Flint Hill site does more than house songwriting, chart-topping phenom Daryl Hall, it has become a regular performance home to well-known singers and performers like The Bacon Brothers, KT Tunstall, Finger Eleven and recently, electro-indie synth-poppers, Chromeo — acts that have been tapped for a Webcast concert series. The Hall & Oats half built the $16 million estate by combining two Connecticut homes; one built in 1770, the other in 1786. The two homes were disassembled and moved to a 245-acre lot with sweeping views of the nearby Catskills. The large home has 24 rooms, including numerous parlors, sitting rooms, libraries, an original tavern room and joins with the smaller house through a great room, complete with a runway-like catwalk. The grounds host several guest homes, a music studio, apple orchard and an onsite recording studio.
